The dsPIC33A Curiosity Platform Development Board (EV74H48A) is a full-featured development and demonstration platform enabling customers to explore the capabilities of the dsPIC33A Digital Signal Controller (DSC) family. dsPIC33A DSCs feature a 32-bit architecture with a double-precision floating-point unit and DSP engine for faster computation in time-critical applications.
Built around a 32-bit Central Processing Unit (CPU) architecture with a 200 MHz operating speed, the dsPIC33A family’s advanced core includes a Double-Precision Floating-Point Unit (DP FPU) and DSP instructions for numerically intensive tasks in many closed-loop control algorithms. The dsPIC33A architecture offers high-performance and precise real-time control coupled with a comprehensive development tool ecosystem to streamline and accelerate the design process.
The dsPIC33A family of DSCs with low latency responsiveness is designed for high-performance and real-time precision control applications. These DSCs combine the advantages of MCUs with the signal processing capabilities of Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), making them suitable for a wide variety of applications that require quick control loop computations using multiple sensor inputs.
Supporting custom feature expansion, the board provides mikroBUS™ and XPLAINED PRO interfaces, allowing companion development boards such as QT Touch extension boards, BIST XPRO extension kits, various sensors and interfaces via Click Boards™ to be added. A QSPI connection to a 2Mbit SQI Flash EEPROM supports external non-volatile data storage.
Included with the user interface, it comes with one RGB LED, a 10K Ohm potentiometer, three push buttons, eight LED’s and three capacitive touch pads. Each of these elements can be programmed for any purpose to create the desired interaction between the user and the board behaviour.
